Our branch of The Arts Society was founded in 1983 and is one of hundreds of Societies worldwide with the aim of expanding peoples' interest in and conservation of the arts.

We hold quality illustrated lectures on a wide range of subjects on the third Tuesday every month - except July and August - at the Maltings - 10 a.m. for 10.30.

We hold Study Mornings when a subject is studied in more depth as well as visits to places of interest and an annual overseas holiday; in recent years these have been to Northern France, The Cotswolds, Glasgow, Lisbon, Suffolk and Ghent with the Peak District next on the list.

There are also vibrant volunteer sections covering Church Recording, Young Arts, and a Heritage conservation group.
